Completed in May 2021 this commission was made to commemorate a civil partnership.

The brief was for the figures to mirror each other while still being a pair. They wear their hearts on their sleeve (or shoulder!). The carving I wanted to have the texture of wood - like the heart on each figure had been carved into the tree trunk. Kind of an old fashioned notion - which is why I gave the figures a more folk art feel.
